When you book a taxi with a car seat, you're trusting someone else's equipment with your child's safety. That's why we're completely transparent about our car seats: which safety standard they meet, which brands we use, how we fit them, and how we clean them. Every Baby-Cabs seat meets the i-Size standard, and every seat is cleaned and disinfected after every single ride.
I-SIZE: THE LATEST EUROPEAN SAFETY STANDARD
What is i-Size?
i-Size is the name of the European car seat regulation UN R129. It replaced the older R44 standard and is now the reference for all new car seats sold in Europe. It was designed to make child seats safer, easier to fit correctly and better suited to each child.
Why i-Size is safer
- Side-impact testing: i-Size seats are crash-tested for side impacts as well as front and rear impacts, which the older R44 standard did not require.
- Rear-facing for longer: i-Size requires babies to travel rear-facing (or rearward-facing) until at least 15 months, the safest position for a young child's head, neck and spine.
- Chosen by height, not just weight: i-Size seats are selected according to your child's height in centimetres, which gives a better and more accurate fit.
- ISOFIX fitting: most i-Size seats lock directly into the car's ISOFIX anchor points (similar to the LATCH system in the US), which greatly reduces the risk of incorrect installation.
OUR SEATS FOR EVERY AGE
Infant car seat (baby carrier)
For newborns and babies, approximately 40 to 87 cm. Always installed rear-facing. Ideal for a ride home from the maternity hospital or your baby's first trip abroad.
Toddler car seat
For young children, approximately 76 to 105 cm. A harnessed child seat, rear-facing or forward-facing depending on your child's age and height.
High-back booster seat
For older children, approximately 100 to 150 cm, up to around 12 years old. The high back and side wings protect the head and guide the seat belt correctly across the shoulder and hips.

THE BRANDS WE USE
We only use new seats from recognised car seat manufacturers: Babybus, Bebe Confort and Osann. We never use second-hand seats, and any seat involved in an accident is immediately taken out of service, even if it looks undamaged. Every seat is also replaced before its manufacturer's expiry date.
CLEANED AND DISINFECTED AFTER EVERY RIDE
Hygiene is the question parents ask us most often, and it's a commitment we take very seriously. Babies and toddlers touch everything, put the straps in their mouths and sometimes leave snacks, milk or worse behind. That's why every seat is systematically cleaned and disinfected after every single client, with no exceptions.
Our cleaning and disinfection routine after each ride:
1. Inspection: we check the seat for crumbs, spills and any marks left from the previous ride.
2. Cleaning: the shell, the cushion and the cover are cleaned to remove dirt, dust and food residue.
3. Disinfection: the harness straps, the buckle, the headrest and every area your child touches are disinfected with a product that is safe for babies and young children.
4. Drying and airing: the seat is left to dry completely, so your child never sits on a damp seat.
5. Deep cleaning: covers are removed and fully washed on a regular basis, in addition to the disinfection after each ride.
Your child always gets a clean, sanitized (or sanitised) seat, never one that has just been used by another child.
FITTED AND CHECKED BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
Our drivers are trained to install every seat according to the manufacturer's instructions. Before each pickup, your driver:
- Fits the right seat for your child's age and height
- Locks it into the ISOFIX anchor points, or secures it with the seat belt where required
- Checks that the seat is firmly attached and doesn't move
- Adjusts the harness height and headrest to your child's size
When you arrive, you just strap your little one in. If you'd like, your driver will show you how the seat works, or let you check everything yourself.

Are your car seats i-Size approved?
Yes. All our seats meet the i-Size (UN R129) European safety standard.
Are the seats cleaned after each child?
Yes. Every seat is cleaned and disinfected after every single ride, without exception. Covers are also fully washed on a regular basis.
What products do you use to disinfect the seats?
We use disinfectant products that are suitable for surfaces in contact with babies and young children, applied to the straps, buckle and all contact areas.
Which seat will my baby get?
Newborns and babies travel in a rear-facing infant car seat. Toddlers get a harnessed toddler seat, and older children get a high-back booster seat, chosen according to their height and age.
Is a rear-facing seat available for my toddler?
Yes. In line with i-Size, children travel rear-facing until at least 15 months, and we can keep your toddler rear-facing for longer if you prefer.
Do you use second-hand seats?
No. We only use new seats from recognised brands, and we never use a seat that has been involved in an accident.
Do the car seats cost extra?
No. Car seats are always included in your fixed price, whatever the number of children.
